Cleveland Indians slugger Vic Wertz, who blasted a deep drive to the furthest part of center field at the spacious Polo Grounds. Center fielder Willie Mays just turned and ran to where he thought the ball would land. Then at the last moment, Mays looked up and caught the ball with his famous basket catch method. Mays great catch is arguably the greatest defensive play in World Series history. This stub is for a game #1 of the 1954 World Series. It has some small tears as well as a few pieces missing, but a must have ticket stub for that NY Giants and Willie Mays collector !
