1948 "RITTGERS" PICKPOCKET SET

Although our interests mainly focus on figural sports memorabilia, we make an exception when it comes to the non-sport statues produced by L.L. Rittgers. Their line of comical sports figurines are well reknowned, but they are also famous for making several non-sport statue sets. This "pickpocket" set of three is one of their finest. It features a policeman staring down a gangster (looks like George Raft) while a pickpocket grabs his wallet while hiding under a sewer cover. The set has super fine coloring. There is a nick on the top of the policeman's hat, but otherwise the set is in excellent plus to near mint condition. This set (and in particular the pickpocket) is not an easy one to find.
